We are a small team of volunteers who compassionately find loving homes for homeless, neglected and abused animals. We work diligently to facilitate the foster and adoption of mostly shih-tzus and other small non-shedding breeds.
Our Dogs
WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 4 HOUR RADIUS OF LOUISVILLE/LEXINGTON KENTUCKY and TENNESSEE AREAS.
WE WANT TO HAVE ACCESS TO DOGS IF NEEDED.
All dogs will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heart worm tested, wormed, micro-chipped and will have had 1 month of heart worm preventative, and 1 month of flea preventative before adoption.

Meet Dude!
Dude is around 9-10 years old and came to us when his owner could no longer care for him. He had Dude for only 18 months so we know nothing of his life before that. Dude needed a full vetting complete with shots neuter teeth cleaning and had a double ear infection. As a result of all this upheaval he had moments of not being very nice. He did not like,to be moved from his comfy spot on the couch or anyone invading his space . With the advice of a great trainer who has worked with another reactive dog that we rescued he is now a sweet loving boy!
His best home needs to be a quiet one with no kids. He’s great with other dogs and potty trained.
His new owner(s) must give him the time and space to decompress once again.
We were using a slip lead to lead him with the command Let’s Go with a firm tug on the lead. Now he goes with just the command.
Our concern is that in his new home he will need someone with the patience to retrain him if needed. My guess as his foster mom that he will need reminders in his new home as this will be yet another change for him
He’s a sweet boy and loves his meals, always first in line for his bowl and will remind foster mom to finish her coffee and get moving! Also loves to go to bed and the first to put paws up to be lifted. Then he snuggles up next to foster mom and dad.
Not interested in toys but follows foster mom and dad around to see what’s going on.
Also Dude has dry eye and needs daily drops
If you would like to meet Dude or fill out an application please do so. Again it needs to be a home that is willing to put up with his grumpiness for a while till he is acclimated. We have the trainer willing to work with whoever adopts him.
